Lee Willingham is Associate Professor of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, where he coordinates the music education and choral programs and serves as Director of the Laurier Centre for Music in the Community. Previously on the faculty of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of University of Toronto, he prepared prospective music teachers for professional service. In the former Scarborough Board of Education he was Coordinator of Music and also served a term as President of the Ontario Music Educators’ Association.

Research interests include studies of choral communities, studies of music instruction and academic achievement, music impact on everyday lives, and community music events and resources. He has published in journals, provided book chapters, and presented numerous conference papers.

As past editor of the Canadian Music Educator Dr. Willingham’s editorial columns are well known to music educators across Canada and beyond.
